1. Payroll enterprise wizard: sortable columns in Review and Submit step
Background: In the payroll enterprise wizard, the final Review and Submit step could not be sorted by employee name, employee ID, gross wages, or net earnings. For clients managing large pay runs, this made it difficult to quickly identify outliers in wage amounts.
What's New?
The Paychecks section of the Review and Submit step in PEW now supports sortable columns, allowing clients to sort by:
- Employee Name
- Employee ID
- Gross Wages
- Net Earnings
2. NY MCTMT: zone-based rate compliance
Background: New York MCTMT tax calculations are required to account for employee work zones, with different rates applying depending on whether an employee falls into Zone 1 or Zone 2. Previously, the system applied a single flat rate to all employees regardless of zone, which did not meet this compliance requirement and created risk for clients with employees spanning both zones.
What's New?
NY-MCTMT tax calculations have been updated to support zone-based rates:
- The single NY-MCTMT rate field has been replaced with two separate rate fields; Zone 1 and Zone 2.
- The system now determines an employee's zone based on their assigned work location and applies the corresponding rate to their taxable wages.
- Any workspace with a previously configured single rate has had that rate automatically populated into both the Zone 1 and Zone 2 fields, ensuring no data loss or disruption to existing setups. If you are in both zones you will need to check your tax parameters and input the correct zone rate.
