Create your own Custom Reports

Custom reporting extends your ability to generate insight from your data in Greenshades, building on a library of standard reports already available.

Setting up your report

The report types contain a comprehensive array of available data. What is the question you’re trying to answer with this report? Choose the type that most closely matches your goal.

We pre-select common fields in each report type; review them to make sure they provide what you need, and make appropriate changes by adding or removing items.

  1. Navigate to Reports > Custom Reports.
  2. Select Create.
  3. Choose a report type or purpose from among the available options (EX: Employee Demographics).
  4. Enter a report name and an optional description for easy identification later. These will be visible to other users in your organization and will make it easy to choose the correct report at a later time.
  5. Fields will display as columns in your report. You can:
    • Use the search bar to find key fields.
    • Select all or unselect all for quick changes.
  6. If needed, decide if and how to group your data; when you run the report, data will be rolled up under the group you choose.

Viewing and refining your report

After you complete the setup of your report, the next screen shows your report. Here, you can narrow down your report focus, add or remove columns of data, and export the view to open in your spreadsheet application.

  • Apply column filters to narrow down the information to what’s relevant. Select the funnel icon next to the column name to access the filtering function.
  • Changes are saved automatically, so your report stays up to date every time you open it.

Export and manage reports

Once you have created one or more Custom Reports, you can access and manage them from with the Reports screen.

  • Download or export your report anytime.
  • Delete reports easily from Reports > Custom Reports when they’re no longer needed.

Tip

Start with a clear purpose for your report. Knowing what question you’re trying to answer will make selecting data and filters much easier.
