Reports: Improve Pay Run Summary Report
Background: The Pay Run Summary report has been a valuable tool for payroll insights, but clients working with larger datasets occasionally experienced longer load and export times. The report also used a different backend than the Pay Run Results report, which could lead to minor inconsistencies and duplication of logic. Clients requested more flexibility to filter data before running reports, both to save time and to reduce the size of exported files.
What’s New?
We’ve rebuilt the Pay Run Summary report to deliver faster performance and pre-filtering options for a smoother experience. Key improvements include:
- Pre-filtering: Users can now filter by Employee ID, Department, Position, or Location before running the report, reducing processing time and file size.
- Backend alignment: The report now runs through the same service as the Pay Run Results report, improving data consistency and efficiency.
- Performance gains: Even large monthly reports now complete in under one minute, with quicker Excel exports and standardized filenames.
These enhancements make it easier than ever to generate the insights you need, faster and with greater control over your data.
Schedules: Allow weekend check dates for pay schedules
Background: The Pay Schedule modal previously allowed selecting only weekdays for Pay Days, reflecting standard banking processing schedules. While this worked well for most payrolls, some organizations, especially those using pay cards, needed additional flexibility to schedule pay dates on weekends. Additionally, the handling of bank holidays and weekends was combined, which could create confusion when setting exceptions with weekend check dates.
What’s New?
We’ve enhanced the Pay Schedule modal to support Weekend Pay Days for Weekly and Bi-Weekly schedules. Clients can now select Saturday or Sunday pay dates, with a confirmation prompt to ensure the selection is intentional. Bank Holiday and Weekend checks are now handled separately, providing clearer control and reducing the risk of scheduling errors.
