Setting up Categories

Categories are used to measure performance across all evaluations. These could be measurements like attendance, attitude towards work, quality of work, etc.

To create one, navigate to Settings > Evaluation, and select Create New Category in the Categories section. Enter a name and description before selecting Add Category. Note: The name and description will be displayed to employees when reviewing their evaluations.

Setting up Templates

Templates are used to establish evaluation types by setting how and when to measure employee performance. An example of a template can be "Yearly Review" or "Quarterly Review".

To create one, navigate to Settings > Evaluation, and select Create New Evaluation in the Templates section. On the first screen, enter a name and description. Choose when the evaluation should start for eligible employees and whether it should be scheduled based on their hire date, adjusted hire date, or their manager's discretion. Then, choose whether the evaluation will occur once or on a schedule. Decide whether to make the evaluation applicable to all employees or certain employees based on filters of your choosing. Finally, decide whether employees must submit an electronic signature upon receipt the evaluation and whether they can add comments. Then, proceed to the next screen.

On the second screen, you can decide whether to use a word list or numeric range for measuring employee performance and their total score. The table on the right can be used to set up the word list. You can also choose whether the total score should be calculated or based on manager determination. Finally, you can decide whether managers can comment on the total score. Then, proceed to the final screen.

On the final screen, categories can be used to set up evaluation criteria. Each criterion should be given a title, description, and weight. When evaluating employees, managers will assign a score based on the previous step to each of these criteria. Finally, select Next to complete the template setup.
